My first customer of the day was Lola and she was a retired lady from the Bay Area, just visiting. Nothing too extreme.
Then there were a few students in town. Sorting out their new accommodation and educational exploits.
Then my next lady who was doing an album cover for an up and coming band. She had just gone through a double mastectomy. You’re a trooper for sure. She told me she was getting back into art after a grueling 2 months. Her boyfriend was by her side when I picked her up. Good on him.
Two waitresses on their way to work at the Filling Station in Fairdinkumhaven. Haven’t been there yet. I will one day.
Then my final customer. He was heading over to his father’s apartment. He grew up in Point Roberts, a funny little peninsula that juts out from Canada. Unfortunately his father is suffering from dementia and he himself has a disability. I had to assist him with his seatbelt. It broke my heart when be said that his dad had dementia. I tried to put a positive light on medical advancement, but that was tough.
Only a few passengers today for labor day.
