It’s been a while since I posted. Apologies. I have been working as an archaeologist again. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving wasn’t the best. I had three cancellations in a row that day and only six rides.
Sometimes when driving around you see some pretty weird stuff. Including a Fortune Teller. It wasn’t just any fortune teller. It was a shiela with a cardboard box enveloped round her body like a costume, with the letters fortune teller written in big bold letters. It was a crack up. The lady was just standing there on the corner by the university.
Finally a ping. After three cancellations where I drove to each of the locations I finally got my first passenger. A former Nat geo intern who went to Australia to photograph wildlife and the environment. She knew loads about my homeland that I wish the right could have been longer. Anywhere from wombats pooping cubes, to koalas sleeping 20 hours a day.
Then a non talkative passenger. How boring 😑🙄. It was an uneventful day.
I had another graphic designer in my car and a student who missed her bus. A couple of other students and one woman is married to a former Australian diplomats son. The bloke was born in Alice Springs near the infamous secretetive facility Pine Gap.
A social worker graced my car who works for a non profit organisation. Her job is to assist children in need. Then finally an IT professional who warned me about a wind storm coming to the County. I told him about my blog and he said he would check it out.
Uber 2 rides and Lyft 4 rides. Next is Thanksgiving Eve! It made for my terrible Tuesday. Oh by the way below are some wonderful reviews I have been getting on Lyft.
